A Simple Reminder from Me to You!!!
Galatians 4: 1-11 (Amplified Bible)
NOW WHAT I mean is that as long as the inheritor (heir) is a child and under age, he does not differ from a slave, although he is the master of all the estate; But he is under guardians and administrators or trustees until the date fixed by his father. So we [Jewish Christians] also, when we were minors, were kept like slaves under [the rules of the Hebrew ritual and subject to] the elementary teachings of a system of external observations and regulations. But when the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born subject to [the regulations of] the Law, To purchase the freedom of (to ransom, to redeem, to atone for) those who were subject to the Law, that we might be adopted and have son ship conferred upon us [and be recognized as God's sons]. And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba (Father)! Father! Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son; and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God, through Christ. But at that previous time, when you had not come to be acquainted with and understand and know the true God, you [Gentiles] were in bondage to gods who by their very nature could not be gods at all [gods that really did not exist]. Now, however, that you have come to be acquainted with and understand and know [the true] God, or rather to be understood and known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly and worthless elementary things [of all religions before Christ came], whose slaves you once more want to become? You observe [particular] days and months and seasons and years! I am alarmed [about you], lest I have labored among and over you to no purpose and in vain.
If you read the entire book of Galatians, God has used this book to combat the rituals and self made righteousness of people. It greatly saddens me, when I see many teach the words of obedience, and the words of written laws, to instill in a child of GOD confusion and unfaithfulness. They teach that while we live under grace, we better do this or else. Our action does not in any way assist GOD in loving us. They do not make GOD bless us, and they certainly do not make us right with GOD.
While obedience is a good thing, teachings should not be centered in the acts of obedience brings about this or that. Obedience, subjection and the eagerness to follow comes out of love. It does not come out of wanting to be good enough or to teach others to fail. Obedience cannot be taught, all a person can do is to grow in knowledge, GOD given knowledge! Then continue to pursue the things of GOD, the obedience is a cause that GOD brings about in the domino effect of loving and seeking HIM.
When a person says if you do this GOD will do this, or GOD did this because I did this, that very same person has removed grace and faithfulness out of their lives. GOD does not pay us out of debt for our actions, HE gives gifts to us because HE loves us. He gives to us because HE said HE would, not because we suddenly become a person that can live up to HIS standards, there is none that can.
I urge all children of GOD, to not get lost up in what a man says, whether that man be me, or another. Instead actively pursue our own personal walk and relationship with GOD, seeking HIS presence, HIS divine knowledge and ways in our own lives. We can help one another, but we must go and receive on our own, reading, meditating and praying HIS word all the time.
