[Church_of_Christ] Re: Can you guess?
Ed said:
For a thing to be an example it must have been intended to be an example by the Lord.
Clay's response:
Now Ed add one more thing to your above statement and I'm thinking you are on your way to "understanding God"
"For a thing to be an example it must have been intended to be an example by the Lord"
ADD TO THAT Ed THE FOLLOWING
One can EASILY determine this by READING the COMMAND, a thus saith the Lord that produced this EXAMPLE. Then this EXAMPLE is binding. All other examples are incidental without a command from God is incidental to history.
Now Bro Ed your understanding would be in keeping with the will of God.
"DO NOT GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN."...
This is what YOUR instruction would now look like Ed, making it God's instruction:
"For a thing to be an example it must have been intended to be an example by the Lord" One can EASILY determine this by READING the COMMAND, a thus saith the Lord, that produced this EXAMPLE. Then this EXAMPLE is binding. All other examples are incidental without a command from God is incidental to history.
Follow examples, when a command is issued that would cause the example to be a parrioting of that specific command.
To do anything other than that is called, manipulation by uninspired man to justify what"HE" wanted God to command so that his actions make him "distinct" from all other sincere followers of "commands"
