You do not recognize CENI at all? Interesting! I have found that others who have made the same statements end up recognizing it after all, they just didn't know it. They oppose something they thought was one thing and came to understand it isn't what they thought it was! The reason I suspect this is that CENI is nothing more than the normal way humans communicate! It is no secret formula and mysterious theorem. It is ridiculed and sneered at and then used in every day dialogue.
Yeah, I was kind of stunned by Ray's claim also.
If you're a 16-year old teenager who has been told all his life, "Do not steal", when Mom says, "Run to the store and get us a loaf of bread", the "Necessary Inference" is that you'll buy the bread (presumably with Mom's money), and not steal the bread.
Necessary Inference is common to pretty much every conversation you'll have throughout the day.
And I'm pretty confident that Ray accepts the Command portion of CENI.
I guess that just leaves Example. And in that, I can understand where Ray is coming from. An example is not a command, and should not be treated as such.
I think maybe Ray just didn't make himself clear with his wording.
