We make a big mistake trying to figure out things with our own brand of philosophy.
Some of what we think is obviously colored by our own beliefs and world view.
Our lack of experience is no barometer either.
"Well if God wanted to do such and such he would have done it.
Oh?
Really?
Doesn't the word tell us he wants the whole world to be saved?
Why aren't they? Could it be that there isn't always a done deal even if God wills it? We have a part to play obviously a necessary one....
If we don't "get an answer from God" we save face by saying "God doesn't answer prayer any more.... at least not "like that", or it's "not Gods will".
Where would we be if Abraham hadn't persevered all those years in faith? Having faith doesn't mean instantaneous results . Spiritually it may be done when we pray but the manifestation has a time and a season.
Ecc 3:1 To every [thing there is] a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
All healings take time unless they are instant miracles. Healing by its definition denotes a process." They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover" tells us that first they are prayed for and then they begin to recover....a process of healing. We are so used to "microwave cooking " that we think everything in the universe is instant.
People lack of understanding of how the kingdom of God works leads to more problems....
Mar 4:26 ¶ And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Mar 4:27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
Mar 4:28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
Mar 4:29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come
If you want to see Jesus come alive to you, you must have faith and follow his words.
If you love me you will keep my word he said....
Jhn 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him
Just because "God took" years to answer someone else doesn't mean we build a doctrine with their experience. IN the case of Job as soon as Job took care of what was between he and Job God healed and turned his captivity. It is always between the person praying and God. If I regard iniquity in my heart it makes it so I am blocked from his presence in prayer. Unforgiveness, hate, unbelief, all of these block the flow of God grace.
For things to come to pass in your life it must be a matter of belief not prayer. People pray all the time and are just "talking", Some of them have no rhyme or reason in prayer other than as a method to get what they want.
Prayer when it is focused and has a purpose is done like the scripture teaches.
Why do we rely on personal philosophy when we have a perfect personal trainer? Jesus said it would be to our advantage that he go away, if not the Holy Spirit couldn't come......he said he would come to us and teach, guide and direct us in all things. Here again we want it all in a day and the kingdom doesn't work like that....
