They were all considered moral issues worthy of damnation at various times in history.

EXACTLY Wendy and that is WHY creeds do not need to be established and considered the creed of OUR church.
Smoking may or may not be a sin. If it "harms" the temple of God
then one would be wise to consider that.
Drinking Alcohol is not a sin as taught under the New Covenant, getting DRUNK is the sin, not drinking a glass of wine.
Playing card's is not a sin, I'm not even sure gambling is a sin,
it can be if it is fostered from GREED.
That's what the scriptures teach.
