I would have thought so too except that Paul wrote the book of
Romans around that time. Certainly, by allowing false leaders
to have the control that they did, the Old Testement believers
had drifted far from the light of the scriptures. In fact, many
in Israel, who posessed the oracles of God, didn't recognize the
Messiah when He presented Himself. Did not Jesus declare that
generation to be a wicked and adulterous generation?
