[Church_of_Christ] Re: The Trinity exposed?

Lawrence said:
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,
lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The way these verses are connected, making disciples is the same
process as baptizing which is the same as teaching to observe all
that Jesus commanded.

Jesus is equating observing His commands and making disciples with
being baptized into the name of "the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost".

For me, this statement identifies God in a way that we now use the
term trinity to describe.
Clay's response:

Using the "term" trinity is one thing Lawrence but to teach that the Trinity is 3 God's in one, with
all 3 being equal and all 3 separate beings is taking a LIBERTY that the scriptures do not permit,
teach or imply..

The question in my mind, is not could this be truth, could this be possible? Well yes it could be TRUTH.

But to deny someone membership over a established creed over something so beyond men's understanding
is being divisive.

1 John 4:8
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 4:16
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
Lawrence If someone "concluded" and started teaching God is FOUR in one, not trinity, but actually quads and that Love was an equal with God Because the Apostle John attest to that fact and it too had
been taught as far back as history records ,would you then approve of a creed that followers must attest to
this TRUTH .... The Quad, before they can place membership?

Wouldn't you based on your OWN understanding conclude, "this is not a undeniable truth?"

Well that's how I feel about the Trinity. Yes it could be the case, but it is VERY UNLIKELY it is the case.

There simply is not enough information given that man can know such as being FACT.

Yes if you were raised having that pounded into your brain by uninspired men you would accept the Trinity
and the reason is, we have drifted from learning from the inspired in preference to what uninspired men conclude. Conclusions are nothing more than opinion and MUST NOT be bound upon a weaker brother
to the point of causing him to "stumble"

A person turning from the world and still weak and recently turned to the Lord and then turns towards a corporate church and the first thing he is told, you must accept the Trinity or you can't place your membership with us is WRONG.

Prior to knowing much about creeds I saw no problem with them. Oh I know my brethren did and they
"told" me that, I didn't believe them. I NOW believe them over this needless trinity alligence

In my "present" understanding God's Holy Spirit is the form, means or description of how He and His Son indwells the believer. To understand the Holy Spirit as an EQUAL to God and has his own personality
and is a separate being, is a stretch in my humble opinion.

The next thing we know we will be worshipping doves.

Luke 3:22
and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

Grace and peace Clay
