| You are so right Gloria, it is a marvelous feeling to leave your comfort zone, get your mind off self, and go and help others. I have suffered culture shock many times, but it was always when leaving a foreign country and coming back to the wealth of the States. The poverty, is so great, and serving God in such a way is so awesome, it makes you want to denigh all you have and go back to that foreign country and be a blessing in what ever way that God leads you. Go if you can the experience will be like none you have ever had. If anyone ever gets anopportunity to serve as a Missionary even for 1 week - do it!! get out of your comfort zone, and see what GOD has in store for your life!! You will be FLOORED!!

We had some church members in Mexico that went down to help rebuild some of the houses that were destroyed by the hurricanes. I wanted to be a missionary, even when I was a child, we had many missionaries that would come by our church and tell us of there works. I was always amazed by there stories. I guess you could say we are working as missionaries to the homeless. We have been doing things for years to try to help the people around us. I was offered an opportunity to teach on a reservation, scince I have Indian blood from both sides of my family, I could get in with very little problem. right now hubbys dad isn't doing well so we will be here until God sends us elsewhere. wanda GOD IS LOVE

A marvelous place, and the most loving people. God was really working there in the early 80's. We would have love to stay longer but the government wouldn't give us the permit. So we followed the Lord to El Amate Mexico where we spent most of the 9 years planting a church, and children's church. It still is strong today. All the children are grown now, and we have had the pleasure to see the fruits of our labor. Blessings Judy L <>< Wanda wrote: Hello Judy, Where were you living in guatamala? I have some friends that were missionaries there for about30 years. The first year after we met we learned a couple songs in French Creole. Iguess that's spelled close enough, but his name was John Paul Duviee.somethjing like that. I never had to try to spell it before. Wanda GOD IS LOVE

Do feel free to post your valuable thoughts. All of us would like to meet you and would like to get to know you. We can uplift each other in prayer as well.
This is quite a nice group that we have here. When you see a prayer request posted , do pray for them. It would make such a diffrence to them.
Thanks.
