Re: [FamilyofGod] A prayer request and some advice
Jamie,
I know it is hard dealing with a family member with dementia. Look me give you something to think about.
An older man had a wife with Alzheimer's. She could not remember his name, that they were married, her children's names or if she even had any kids or grandchildren. She lived in a nursing home. Her husband came to see her every week. He would eat with her. Spend time with her. She had no clue who this strange man was. Finally, one of the nurses asked, "Sir? I don't understand. Why come when she doesn't know you anymore.". Without pause, he responded, "Because I never stopped knowing who she is."
You know who your grandma is even if she doesn't remember you or react well to you.

Hello family, I really need some prayer as well as some advice. My grandma is in a nursing home because she has late stage Dementia. She has stopped eating and her doctors think she might be slipping into acoma soon. If everyone could pray for her I would really appreciate it.
I also need some advice; my parents would like me to go see her before she slips into acoma. Well I want to go see her but I feel really nervous and uncomfortable about seeing her. I don't know how she is going to react to me or how am I going to react to her, it just makes me feel really uncomfortable; but I don't want to sound selfish. Can anyone give some advice about this; I'm really nervous about it.
Love and Peace
