Subject: [FamilyofGod] As Was His Custom
As Was His Custom
In our life, every day we do many things and some of them would have become a routine or a custom, like taking food, work, studying, shopping, spending time with family, etc. When we read Bible, we wonder how the men of God did mighty miracles as the Lord God commanded, isn't it? We see that they made fellowship with God as their custom and so they were able to know and do the will of God.
Daniel had made fellowship with the Lord as his custom. (Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Daniel 6:10). We see here, Daniel had made a custom kneeling down before the Lord, praying and giving thanks giving to the Lord.
The degree written, signed by the king was contradictory to his custom, but he kept on doing his custom of fellowship with the Lord. He knew that the writing of God the Father who created this universe cannot be written off by an earthly writing. Daniel knelt before God and the Lord made him stand among men. Daniel prayed and thanked God and the Lord stood with him in lion's den. Daniel opened the windows and showed that he is worshipping the Lord and the Lord God showed others that he is worshipping the Great Living Almighty God by rescuing him from the mouth of lions.
Dear brethren, Daniel's custom of fellowship with the Lord protected him in the lion's den and brought glory to the Lord God. (I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. Daniel 6:26).
Elkanah had a custom to go to Shiloh to worship and offer sacrifice to the Lord of hosts. (This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. Also the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there. 1 Samuel 1:3). And God heard the prayers of his wife Hannah and blessed them with a child, Samuel who became one of greatest prophet of God. Our fellowship with the Lord God as a custom brings blessings for us and for our children.
King David made a custom of praising the Lord seven times a day (Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments. Psalms 119:164), and seeking the Lord early in the morning (O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. Psalms 63:1). And the Lord gave a testimony of David, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.' (Acts 13:22).
Apostle Peter and John went to the temple of God for prayer as their custom and the Lord did a miracle by healing a lame to walk. (Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. Acts 3:1).
Our Lord Jesus Christ had a custom of going to synagogue (temple of God) and read the Scriptures. (So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. Luke 4:16). Jesus Christ also had a custom of praying to the Father in Mount Olives (Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." Luke 22:39,40).
We also read that Jesus Christ had a custom of teaching people the goodness of Father in heaven, word of God and the kingdom of God. (Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again. Mark 10:1).
Dear brethren, is having fellowship with Lord Jesus Christ your custom? If not, surrender to our Lord God and ask His grace to make fellowship with the Lord God a custom in your life. By the grace of God, let us make it a custom to pray to our Father in heaven individually and as a family, read Bible, meditate the word of God day and night, give thanks and praise to our Lord God, do the will of God and going to Church, etc. And as we do so, whatever may be the writings that are contradictory to His plan for our lives; our Lord God will write them off and give us victory for the glory of His name. We may face lion's, but God will shut their mouth and prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies and lift us above all. (You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Psalms 23:5).
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him with all their soul; and He was found by them, and the LORD gave them rest all around. (2 Chronicles 15:15).
The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. (Psalms 145:18).
One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. (Psalms 27:4,5)

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and I could say, "I used everything that you gave me."
