Looking Unto Jesus

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:3). In our daily life we face many challenges and our faith is tested. But for all the things we face, God has provided us with an answer in our Lord Jesus Christ. All of us face challenges in one way or other; but it matters how we react to them with the confidence that our Lord Jesus Christ is with us or with our own strength and wisdom or with murmuring and grumbling. God has promised us a beautiful peaceful life on this earth in Christ even in the midst of trials. That's why Peter was able to sleep quietly in prison even though he knew the plans to behead him the following day (Acts 12:6).
Bible says, "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God". (Hebrews 12:1,2).
Lay aside every weight and the sin: Our Lord Jesus Christ says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30). To enjoy the rest our Lord Jesus gives, we need to carry His yoke that is easy and light; but before that we need to lay aside or put down our yoke that is heavy to carry. The yoke may be pride, self-righteousness, bitterness, the dangerous "I" or "me" or "mine", or whatever that keeps us not to be humble.
Our life on this earth is like a race, run for the price of everlasting life with our Lord; and we all have to run this race looking unto our Lord Jesus Christ. There are many things that want to pull us down or discourage us and deviate our focus on our Lord Jesus Christ. We know sin always strives with us and we need to keep away from it; but here Bible says to lay aside every weight and the sin. Let us keep aside the heavy yoke of "self" and sin and look unto our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, who humbled Himself and took all the pain and suffering on the cross just for you and me. (Philippians 2:1-8).
Run with endurance: Everyday God loads us with benefits, so that we can be under His grace, work out our salvation and run the race set before us with endurance. (Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah Psalms 68:19). But the enemy comes to steal and destroy the joy, blessings, peace and to keep us away from our Lord by making us to remember our past failures, sin, mistakes and negative thoughts (John 10:10). But we need to look unto the victory our Lord Jesus Christ has given us on the cross and win over the enemy with the power of the word of God and blood of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:11).
Every day as we wake up, let us thank God, read and mediate upon His word, hold on to His promises, commit our ways to Him and face the day with the renewed strength and grace of our Lord. (But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31). Then every day we can also run the race kept before us, saying "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus". (Philippians 3:12-14).
Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith: God has blessed us with faith - all of us whom have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. God has imparted faith in us by the fruit of Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23). But we need to grow in our faith by looking unto our Lord Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.
Bible says, Abraham was strengthened in faith giving glory to God (He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Romans 4:20,21). Bible also says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". (Romans 10:17).
God has given us all the things we have in Christ Jesus through His word Bible. Let us spend time in reading the word of God and meditate upon it throughout the day; and God will increase our faith. And let us glorify our Lord through our lives by our actions, by our words, by our thoughts and be strengthened in faith.
Every day as we run the race for our eternal life, let us lay aside sin and all the things that cause bitterness and make us loose the grace of God (Hebrews 12:-14-16); run the race with endurance by meditating on the word of God being filled with the grace, joy and peace of God; and increase in our faith by giving glory to our Father in heaven through our lives.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13,14)
For David says concerning Him: 'I foresaw the LORD always before my face, for He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. (Acts 2:25,26)
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and I could say, "I used everything that you gave me."
